Sāvatthinidānaṁ.  At Sāvatthī.

“Valāhakakāyike vo, bhikkhave, deve desessāmi.  “Mendicants, I will teach you about the gods of the clouds.
Taṁ suṇātha.  Listen …

Katame ca, bhikkhave, valāhakakāyikā devā?  And what are the gods of the clouds?
Santi, bhikkhave, sītavalāhakā devā;  There are gods of the cool clouds,
santi uṇhavalāhakā devā;  warm clouds,
santi abbhavalāhakā devā;  thunder clouds,
santi vātavalāhakā devā;  windy clouds,
santi vassavalāhakā devā—  and rainy clouds.
ime vuccanti, bhikkhave, ‘valāhakakāyikā devā’”ti.  These are called the gods of the clouds.”
