“Pācīnavaṁsadāyamhi,  In the Eastern Bamboo Park
sakyaputtā sahāyakā;  the Sakyan friends,
Pahāyānappake bhoge,  having given up great wealth,
uñchāpattāgate ratā.  are happy with the scraps in their bowls.

Āraddhavīriyā pahitattā,  Energetic, resolute,
Niccaṁ daḷhaparakkamā;  always staunchly vigorous;
Ramanti dhammaratiyā,  having given up mundane delights,
Hitvāna lokiyaṁ ratin”ti.  they enjoy the delights of the Dhamma.
