This is not matched by Ce or Be and is thus likely to be an editorial error. … he is called a bhikkhu who is not devoid of jhāna, who acts upon the teaching of the Teacher, who responds to his advice, and who does not eat the country's almsfood in vain. How much more, then, those who cultivate it!"

1Dutiyajjhānasahagataṁ … pe … tatiyajjhānasahagataṁ … pe … catutthajjhānasahagataṁ … pe … mettāsahagataṁ … pe … karuṇāsahagataṁ … pe … muditāsahagataṁ … pe … upekkhāsahagataṁ saddhindriyaṁ bhāveti … vīriyindriyaṁ bhāveti … satindriyaṁ bhāveti … samādhindriyaṁ bhāveti … paññindriyaṁ bhāveti … saddhābalaṁ bhāveti … vīriyabalaṁ bhāveti … satibalaṁ bhāveti … samādhibalaṁ bhāveti … paññābalaṁ bhāveti. Ayaṁ vuccati, bhikkhave: ‘bhikkhu arittajjhāno viharati satthusāsanakaro ovādapatikaro, amoghaṁ raṭṭhapiṇḍaṁ bhuñjati’. Ko pana vādo ye naṁ bahulīkarontī"ti.
