"Bhikkhus, one who does not know and see as it really is aging-and-death … birth … existence … clinging … craving … feeling … contact … the six sense bases … name-and-form … consciousness … volitional formations,
their origin, their cessation, and the way leading to their cessation, should make an exertion in order to know this as it really is. sn.ii.132

… should arouse desire in order to know this as it really is.

… should arouse enthusiasm in order to know this as it really is.

… should be unremitting in order to know this as it really is.

… should arouse ardour in order to know this as it really is.

… should apply energy in order to know this as it really is.

… should practise perseverance in order to know this as it really is.

… should practise mindfulness in order to know this as it really is.

… should practise clear comprehension in order to know this as it really is.

… should practise diligence in order to know this as it really is."
