Dhammapālattheragāthā  Dhammapāla

“Yo have daharo bhikkhu,  The young monk
yuñjati buddhasāsane;  who is devoted to the teaching of the Buddha,
Jāgaro sa hi suttesu, 
sa hi suttesu → patisuttesu (bj, pts1ed, mr)
wakeful while others sleep—
amoghaṁ tassa jīvitaṁ.  his life is not in vain.

Tasmā saddhañca sīlañca,  So let the wise devote themselves
pasādaṁ dhammadassanaṁ;  to faith, ethical behavior,
Anuyuñjetha medhāvī,  confidence, and insight into the teaching,
saraṁ buddhāna sāsanan”ti.  remembering the instructions of the Buddhas.
