MahāgovindacariyaMahāgovinda’s Conduct
“Punāparaṁ yadā homi, sattarājapurohito;“Then again when I was high priest for seven kings, Pūjito naradevehi, mahāgovindabrāhmaṇo.I was venerated by the gods among men as the brahmin Mahāgovinda.
Tadāhaṁ sattarajjesu, yaṁ me āsi upāyanaṁ;Then in all seven kingdoms what I received as tribute Tena demi mahādānaṁ, akkhobbhaṁ sāgarūpamaṁ.
akkhobbhaṁ → akkhobhaṁ (sya1ed, sya2ed, km, pts-vp-pli2)I used to give a great gift unwavering as the ocean.Na me dessaṁ dhanaṁ dhaññaṁ, napi natthi nicayo mayi;It was not because I disliked riches or grain, or because I had a store set aside, Sabbaññutaṁ piyaṁ mayhaṁ, tasmā demi varaṁ dhanan”ti.but because omniscience is precious to me, that is why I gave such fine riches.”
