Dutiyaāsavasutta

Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:This was said by the Blessed One, said by the Arahant, so I have heard:

“Tayome, bhikkhave, āsavā.“Monks, there are these three effluents. Katame tayo?Which three? Kāmāsavo, bhavāsavo, avijjāsavo—The effluent of sensuality, the effluent of becoming, the effluent of ignorance. ime kho, bhikkhave, tayo āsavā”ti.These are the three effluents.”

Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:

“Yassa kāmāsavo khīṇo, avijjā ca virājitā;His effluent of sensuality ended, his ignorance faded away, Bhavāsavo parikkhīṇo, vippamutto nirūpadhi;his effluent of becoming exhausted: one totally released, acquisition-free, Dhāreti antimaṁ dehaṁ, jetvā māraṁ savāhinin”ti.
savāhinin”ti → savāhananti (sya-all, pts-vp-pli1)
bears his last body, having conquered Māra along with his mount.

Ayampi attho vutto bhagavatā, iti me sutanti.

Aṭṭhamaṁ.
