Tamenaṁ, bhikkhave, devā ‘cavanadhammo ayaṁ devaputto’ti iti viditvā tīhi vācāhi anumodenti:
anumodenti → anumodanti (bj, sya-all, pts-vp-pli1)The devas, knowing from this that ‘This deva-son is about to pass away,’ encourage him with three sayings:
‘ito, bho, sugatiṁ gaccha.‘Go from here, honorable sir, to a good destination.
Sugatiṁ gantvā suladdhalābhaṁ labha.Having gone to a good destination, gain the gain that is good to gain.
Suladdhalābhaṁ labhitvā suppatiṭṭhito bhavāhī’”ti.Having gained the gain that is good to gain, become well-established.’”
Evaṁ vutte, aññataro bhikkhu bhagavantaṁ etadavoca:

Kiñca, bhante, devānaṁ suladdhalābhasaṅkhātaṁ.What is their reckoning of the gain that is good to gain?
