Upaparikkhasutta
Vuttañhetaṁ bhagavatā vuttamarahatāti me sutaṁ:This was said by the Blessed One, said by the Arahant, so I have heard:
“Tathā tathā, bhikkhave, bhikkhu upaparikkheyya yathā yathāssa upaparikkhato bahiddhā cassa viññāṇaṁ avikkhittaṁ avisaṭaṁ ajjhattaṁ asaṇṭhitaṁ anupādāya na paritasseyya.
yathā yathāssa → yathā yathā (bahūsu)“Monks, a monk should investigate in such a way that– his consciousness neither externally scattered & diffused,
nor internally positioned–he is, from lack of clinging/sustenance, unagitated,
Bahiddhā, bhikkhave, viññāṇe avikkhitte avisaṭe sati ajjhattaṁ asaṇṭhite anupādāya aparitassato āyatiṁ jātijarāmaraṇadukkhasamudayasambhavo na hotī”ti.and there is no coming into being of the origination of future birth, aging, death, or stress.”
Etamatthaṁ bhagavā avoca. Tatthetaṁ iti vuccati:
“Sattasaṅgappahīnassa, netticchinnassa bhikkhuno; For a monk who has abandoned seven attachments and cut the guide: Vikkhīṇo jātisaṁsāro, natthi tassa punabbhavo”ti.the wandering-on in birth is finished; there is, for him, no further becoming.
